Jam fits my "toss it all in" approach, except for the grapes. I squish those through the mill. My neighbors are a wonder -- we lucked out in ways I can't even begin to count.

Ribbit, we'll see, of course. The proof is in the toast. Or the jam cake. Or the thumbprint cookies.

Michelle, you're right. It's just so much fun to do and what else can you do with the fruit? I may freeze the next bag for smoothies (before the fruit flies show up).

AG, I DO plan to email you; I've just been flakily overwhelmed. I just used a regular "guess at the sugar" no pectin jam approach, and tossed in some vanilla extract and some cinnamon. I truly have no idea how it will come out, and no way to replicate it! Real small batch jammery.

EG, you just have to dream in the jam zone to think of things like this. I hope it is good. I should start mailing it out to you guys for tasting and feedback.

Esperanza, we'll have to build a beautiful pantry in the laundry area.

Dan, sometimes I think I make jam as much for the pretty as the tasty. Thanks!

el, I have a trap up right now. Little creeps. The fruit is outside because I don't trust it any more, and I'm not buying bananas until it cools down. I ought to post about the wax moth infestation that Sarafina and I battled today. Ick.

Um, hi, anonymous. Peach jam isn't great in my experience, but the peaches I'm using don't taste fantastic. I read that adding almonds to peaches punches up the flavor because they're related, so maybe some pure almond extract? I really wing my jam, so I tossed in some cinnamon and some vanilla. Who knows how it will work? I assume that there are tested recipes out there, but not here (yet).Stefaneenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08422241601075022500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-4680160042909056202009-09-03T11:12:08.416-07:002009-09-03T11:12:08.416-07:00Please, oh please, will you share this recipe? Don't know what I did wrong- I thought for sure the peach would be an amazingly strong flavor. Perhaps it was the low sugar, perhaps it was that I just started canning this summer. I'm feeling adventurous though and would love to try something other than what the pectin package lists as a 'recipe'.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-77368072441178635302009-09-02T19:01:40.249-07:002009-09-02T19:01:40.249-07:00Sounds delish!
