I've never spun camel... yak, but no camel. I may have to remedy that.

I look forward to seeing more of your handspun!String Beanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01598846448053368565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-26689746732554031512007-08-06T14:25:00.000-07:002007-08-06T14:25:00.000-07:00That all looks so pretty, especially the corriedal...That all looks so pretty, especially the corriedaleRainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17967748137538608434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-54439452153460178902007-08-06T11:45:00.000-07:002007-08-06T11:45:00.000-07:00What lovely fiber. Nice stuff, good selections all round.

I read your post on the knitty board where you said that you like to knit sweaters and larger projects...

One good way to do this with your handspun is to do a multi-ply with different fibers (I have a sweater that I wear all the time that is one ply silk, alpaca, camel down, and an angora wool blend) I spun each ply very fine, and ended up with about a dk weight yarn, and enough for a long sleeved cardigan with a nice collar...

I only had about 4 ozs of three of the fibers to work with. I figured that if I ran out I could accent with an alpaca yarn that I would have had to spin up if I ran out. But it worked! :-)

I'm jealous that you got to go to Lambtown, but I really have way more than enough fiber to keep me busy probably until next year's Lambtown comes around. But still it's about the only festival close to me, and it's so nice to be able to touch before you buy!

Anyway - just thought I'd say hi, not write a book.Abigalehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08117908892623144837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-40882721288872603042007-07-29T10:26:00.000-07:002007-07-29T10:26:00.000-07:00ohhhhh what prettiesohhhhh what prettiescpurl17http://www.blogger.com/profile/13673330749335532020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018402196949735412.post-48480186422518861492007-07-29T09:37:00.000-07:002007-07-29T09:37:00.000-07:00oooh.... aaaahhhh....oooh.... aaaahhhh....bfmommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03644598269801019948noreply@blogger.com
