Too Sick to Knit

Ever since I was in high school, I'd get a cold that involved a few weeks of coughing and gagging about every nine months. Tiring, but I didn't feel sick, just worn out.

I have been coughing for a few weeks now, which is bad, but yesterday I got visited by the Woozy Fairy. Can't stand up; feel like I'm going to collapse. I even got a rare bout of insomnia and stayed up most of the night -- whoopie! Today I had some things I had to do, but when I got home and still felt like collapsing, I finally got out the thermometer. I feel rotten because I have a fever.

That's nice.

I feel too sick to knit. Mostly I just want to sit in the bathtub (warm at night, cool during the day) and read old New Yorkers. Unfortunately I have kids. Well, usually I think it's great fortune to have kids, but they do require a lot of care.

Maybe I'll sleep tonight. And this, like the beastly hot weather (my house has dozens of windows, all of which concentrate the heat inside fabulously), can't last forever.

You poor thing... isn't it a surreal to feeling to have a fever during a heat wave?

It's ridiculous here, too. Us poor central Canadians aren't used to it. You can tell the people who don't have air conditioned vehicles, because their windows are open and they have that look in their eye.

But I digress. Well wishes your way!

Ugh! Ick ick ick ick ick! I hate being sick. I'm sorry. :(

I'm not liking the hot weather either. Not so much for myself, but certain people around me might turn into slugs when it's hot....

I always feel like knitting when I'm sick. What makes me feel like tossing my knitting down (or out the window) is the heat. Funny old world, isn't it?

I hope you feel better soon. *Sending you thoughts of hot tea with honey and lemon and homemade chicken noodle soup - toss in some homemade bread*

oh, you poor thing! I expect to be sick in the winter, but summer colds suck. And summer colds with kids around? :( Isn't DH around since it's the weekend? Make him go to the park or something so you can nap... or bathe ;)

Oh, I feel for you in the heat. I am sick too but at least in this hemisphere I can curl up in bed with a book and some lemon cordial!
