Many hands

I cleaned the hosue for a nonexistant party last week, and my three youngest went over to play at a friend's house. You can see what they did here.

Wow! That's incredible. Keep that friend, right? Keep her forever.

Susan is either very patient, very brave or a wee bit insane. Boiling syrup mixtures with six kids? That those kids will ostensibly be *stretching* across her kitchen?

When I invite kids over "to play", I just open the back door and whisk them outside.

My mom made taffy with my kindergarten class. So it didn't seem like such a bad idea.

But I have to admit that when a small fight broke out next to me I did shout, "Hey, not by the hot lava!"

And if you look at the picture of Thing 3 stirring you'll see some yellow cardboard bricks above his head. The kids bricked in the door next to the stove and then they karate chopped them down and I was enveloped in a shower of cardboard bricks.

And I think it was at that moment that I remembered the kitchen safety video and did in fact doubt my own sanity.

But we did have fun and hey, no fatalities.

I really really really want to try some.

Why did you have a nonexistant party?

My word verification is "scone" - this is a sign. Since I'm guessing this morning isn't happening, how about tonight? I have to take Annie to frisbee at 7:15.

I'm laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes. Just the thing to relieve holiday stress. You know, if you're not the one with the insane candy-making fiasco in your kitchen :)
