I went out this morning just to grab some oregano for some spaghetti sauce I was making from the very tail end of last year's tomatoes. That freezer had to be cleaned out to make room for this spring's grassfed beef, and we are enriched by it.
A funny thing happened on the way to the herb bed --
So a quick run down: morning fog, check. Afternoon sun, check. Summer squash, check. Strawberries, both varieties, check. It must be summer!

I need to clean the freezer out too, especially since the squash is coming in like it is...
Looks like a productive "quick walk" in the garden! I love getting bits and pieces that together make up a fine meal.
Definitely freezer cleaning season - I did mine last week! Nice variety of yummies in the basket!
I'm so jealous of your summer squash! Our plants have so far completely failed. I had to finally try replanting them this past weekend.
EG, I can't imagine what you do with it. I eat it fresh, but am happy to see it go at the end. Knowing you, you'll fill a freezer!
kitsapFG, yes, it's one of the nicest events going.
Erin, good for you! It's a fine feeling to know it's all done.
Rachel, so sorry! Surely you can get another batch going. My sweet peppers are underachievers this year, if it's any help.
I had to clean out my freezer for a part of a pig. Now I have to get my act together and make some pulled pork. Maybe next week I can do that.
Whoopee. Hoot. Cackle and Holler. It's finally hot! I see the abundance from your garden already. I have one freezer filled with frozen bee frames, awaiting extraction.
