If you look away

Two things happen: squashes almost as big as the girl, and the little ones grow up too fast!

Sadly mine are all grown up. The kids that is, not the squash.

Isn't that the truth, we just got a call from our grandsons Mom in California, where he is spending the summer...she reports that he has gained 10 lbs and grown 2 inches. Wonder what she's been feeding him...probably not summer squash.:)

Too true. I am going to visit my "baby" in PA next week. She moved away to attend college there one year ago and I have been trying to adjust to life without her in the house ever since. :(

What a little precious darling you've got there. Beautiful squash too.

Daphne, there are days when both sound terrific, but I know it's going to feel awfully quiet around here. Squash aren't noisy as they grow. . .

Mr. H., no kidding - sounds as though he's growing as fast as a summer squash, though.

kitsapFG, I cheer their growing, for the most part, but this one is going to feel a little differently, I'm afraid.

Kristin, I put out a box of squash for free today. Couldn't/wouldn't do that with the kids : )

The squash from your seeds were just coming on nicely with us when they were battered by hail a couple of nights ago. So you have to live with the setbacks too. Your little one looks like she's doing well though and strong enough to carry those squashes!

So true, so true. I am always telling younger parents not to miss a soccer game, a speech tournament, or any of the inconvenient, dinner interrupting activities of their children. All too soon it is over.
