Bleak

I woke repeatedly this morning feeling as though somehow a vial of pure fear had been poured into my solar plexus -- spreading to my hands and feet.

I don't know what an anxiety attack feels like, but when I'm afraid, really afraid, my hands feel funny. If it's adrenaline, the symptoms are different -- such as after a near-miss car thing.

So I'd be dreaming along, and bam! Don't know if it was choking because my mouth was dry or what. Happened about 4-5 times. I'd squeeze one of the two kids who'd crept into bed and go back to sleep.

Unfortunately, it hasn't gone away. It's not anxiety, exactly, more like a horror attack. Weepy, tingly hands. I'm drinking water in case it's something like dehydration.

I don't know how I'm going to function today.

Yikes!

Do something soothing. Yoga? Pilates? Some sort of drink? (I was thinking tea, but whatever works . . .) Just run until you're exhausted and there's no room for anxiety?

Oh, big hugs to you. If it's any comfort, this happens to me sometimes, too, also with the hands in the middle of the night. Hate the hands thing.

Might it perhaps be hormonal? Usually is with me.

I think Lara is on to something with a run. Those endorphins can chase away a lot of stuff.

Call your doctor's office and make an appointment!

In the meantime, deep breaths, sip some tea, feel better. I wish I knew what was wrong and could give you actual advice instead of just good thoughts your way, but that's the best I can do :)

You don't think this is fallout from your car break-in, do you?

Breathe deep. Drink water. Get some fresh air. Run? Maybe you just need to give yourself some space for a while. Hang in there, okay? :0)

I'm so sorry you're feeling odd. I hope you're doing better this evening. I've dealt with anxiety attacks before... deep breathes and a little walk are both good tips if that's what it is. Remember though, anxiety itself is harmless although it is quite insidious as concern over how you're feeling can heighten the anxiety. Try to relax and call the doctor in the morning.
