I don't know because Caterina ate them both. Hmph. Maybe as the trees get bigger, I'll get more. In five minutes today I picked about two or three pounds of plums from the tree at our church. Half to the food bank, half to the local fruit exchange, and a few got eaten by. . Caterina. Of course.

Oh my, what I would give for a fresh plum. Perhaps one of my favorite fruits next to apples, pears, cherries, apricots, peaches, and most berries. It says a lot that you share the wealth with others... good for you.

Dan, I think they are. I'm in the absolute heart of "too many plums" land. I also have Elephant Heart, my real favorite, but they aren't ripe yet.
Mr. H., if you were here, I'd share. I'm the coordinator for a community-wide fruit exchange. We're trying to ease peoples' loads so if you're overburdened with lemons in January, you get plums in June. You can see it at alamedafruitexchange.blogspot.
I will second the plum envy. :D They look scrumtious but so much of our tree fruit harvests for the region is still weeks and weeks away yet. But... I have ripe strawberries and blueberries that are about to ripen... so I will be content.
My mother used to have a plum tree, but the wasps used to get most of them. I guess you don't have that problem? Now I have an absolute craving for plums.

My folks have a plum tree. A few years ago, I made plum jelly.... so good!!!
